About PromptZen

PromptZen is a visual library of AI prompts. Every prompt shows the result it produced, the AI tool it was written for, and fields you can fill in before copying it.

Who publishes the prompts

Prompts on PromptZen are written and published by creators. A creator applies through Apply as Creator, receives a creator account, and then publishes their own prompts from the Creator Studio. Each prompt is credited to the creator who published it and links to their profile, so you can see who made it and what else they have published.

The PromptZen team runs the platform: it manages creator accounts, categories, tools and tags, and can edit or remove prompts that break the Terms of Use.

How we test prompts

Every preview on PromptZen is a real output: the creator ran the prompt in the AI tool named on the page and uploaded what that tool produced. Some prompts show more results from the same prompt, for example with a different photo or different field values.

The PromptZen team then runs prompts again in the same tool. When our result matches the preview, the prompt gets the Tested by PromptZen mark with the test date, and the page shows our notes under “How we tested it”: the input we used, how many tries it took, and what came out differently. If the creator later edits the prompt, the mark and notes are removed until we test the new version. Prompts without the mark have not been re-tested by us yet.

How to read a prompt page

  • Preview image — the output the creator got when they ran the prompt.
  • AI tool — the tool the prompt was written and run in, such as ChatGPT. Results in other tools, or in a newer version of the same tool, can differ.
  • Customize fields — parts of the prompt you can change (a location, a style, an aspect ratio) before copying. The copied text always contains your values, never raw placeholders.
  • Usage guidelines and limitations — what the creator found works, and where the prompt falls short.
  • How we tested it — on tested prompts, what happened when the PromptZen team ran it.

AI tools change often and their output is not deterministic, so a prompt can give a different result for you than the preview shows. Treat the preview as an example, not a guarantee.

What PromptZen does not do

PromptZen does not run AI models and does not receive the photos or files you use with a prompt. When a prompt asks you to upload a photo, you upload it to the external AI tool you choose, under that tool's own privacy policy. See our Privacy Policy for what PromptZen itself stores.
