Privacy Policy
This page explains what PromptZen stores about you, why, and what it never receives. You can browse, customize and copy prompts without an account.

Photos and files you use with prompts
Some prompts ask you to upload a photo, for example a face photo for a portrait edit. That upload happens in the external AI tool you choose (such as ChatGPT or Gemini), not on PromptZen. PromptZen never receives, stores or processes those photos. The AI tool's own privacy policy applies to anything you upload there.
Data stored in your browser
- Bookmarks — prompts you save are kept in your browser's local storage on that device. When you are not signed in, they are not sent to our servers.
- Theme — your light or dark mode choice is kept in local storage.
Clearing your browser's site data removes both.
Accounts
When you have an account (for example a creator account), we store your name, username, email address, a hashed password (never the password itself), and the optional avatar and bio you add. Signing in sets a session cookie that keeps you logged in; it is used only for authentication.
When you are signed in, the prompts you bookmark or like are also stored with your account, so they sync across your devices. Only the total number of saves and likes on a prompt is shown publicly, never who made them. Signing out removes the synced bookmarks from that device; they stay in your account.
Prompts a creator publishes, including their name, username and preview images, are public by design.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited and how the site is used, so we can improve it. It sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) and collects information such as the pages you view, the page that referred you, your device and browser type, and an approximate location (country or city). Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
The values you type into a prompt's customization fields stay in your browser and are not sent to Google Analytics or to us. Analytics loads only after you first interact with a page (or after a few seconds), and it is not used for advertising.
You can block these cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google explains how it uses this data at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Advertising
PromptZen shows ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings, or opt out of some other vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info (or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe).
